This project marks the second showroom and office for MARIHA, a brand renowned for its jewelry and fashion collections. Building on the foundation of the first office, which we also designed within the same building, the design retains the original tone while enhancing the space with a more private atmosphere of a salon.
The brief was to design a space that functions both as a showroom and an office, while evoking the warmth of a home where honored guests feel welcome. To emphasize a seamless integration of jewelry, furniture, and the ambiance, we crafted the interior to allow vis itors to experience the products as though they were stepping into one’s home.
In this simple space, a large standalone plaster wall was used as a key element to create a natural flow and circulation. At the entrance, guests are welcomed into an intimate, compact area accompanied by the brand’s signage, subtly building anticipation for the space beyond. In the living room area, a spacious lounge designed to showcase art, offering guests the feeling of being specially invited.
To express the brand of MARIHA, interior stylist Yumi Nakata has worked on the arrangement of items on the jewelry cases along with display shelves spanning the entire wall.
As with the first office and the Omotesando flagship store, the space features key materials of oak wood and the brand’s signature gold accents. We partnered with Karimoku Case to curate a selection of upholstered furniture, including prototypes that are yet to be commercialized. Bespoke display shelves and fixtures were also created exclusively for this space.
By intentionally selecting materials such as a large standalone plaster wall, oak furniture, and gold fixtures, we meticulously layered intricate details to ensure that the jewelry stands out within the spacious setting. The result is a refined atmosphere where the seemingly contrasting elements of a showroom and the warmth of a home come together in seamless balance.
