石巻工房が会社化となった。

規定路線ではあったけれど、実際会社化するには様々なハードルがあって、
その労力の多くはサポーターの皆様にお世話になった。
まずはこの場を借りて深く感謝をしたい。

地元の期待も大きい。恩返しや未来の希望のためにも、絶対に成功させないといけない会社、それが石巻工房である。
しかしながら、技術的なハードルはサポーターの皆さんで乗り越えたとしても、営業的な面はこちらで乗り越えるべき壁である。つまり経営的に
安定して販売していくこと、工房をつかってもらうこと。これはなかなか大変だ。これはどうやって売るかという話ではあるけれど、
どうやって石巻工房の魅力をしってもらうかということなのだろうと思う。
いかに工房の家具をしってもらうか、つかってもらうか、そして買ってもらうか。これを石巻工房のチームとともに
考えていきたい。

以下、会社化のあいさつ。

まずは英語から。

Ishinomaki Laboratory was established as a volunteer workshop following the Great East Japan Earthquake which devastated the town of Ishinomaki, in Miyagi Prefecture. In order to continue furthering reconstruction aid and meet new challenges, we have now formed ‘Ishinomaki Laboratory Inc.’

In the beginning, Ishinomaki Laboratory was a tiny workshop providing technical assistance and a space for locals to build things. Now, owing largely to the contribution of the people who have long supported us and purchased our products, and together with the spirit of DIY, we have been able to develop into a furniture maker with the potential to add a fresh dimension to the current direction of furniture design and influence trends in the international market.

As the world’s first DIY furniture label, we continue to consider and create the future of products which consumers can develop by themselves, something that traditional products cannot provide. We believe that we can propose a new lifestyle, through products which embody hints for survival in difficult situations, the incentive of making things with one’s hands, and the spirit of DIY.

We hope that you will follow us and share in our future endeavors as Ishinomaki Laboratory Inc.

謹啓　早春の候　ますますご清栄のこととお慶び申し上げます
日頃より格別のお引立てを賜り厚く御礼申し上げます

さて　東日本大震災後　彼の地 宮城県石巻市で小さな産業として立ち上がりました石巻工房ですが
このたび　さらなる飛躍と未来への発展　また広義での震災復興を見据えるため
石巻工房は「株式会社石巻工房」と変更することとなりました

当初は小さな修繕を行えるような市民工房という発想から生まれた石巻工房ですが
皆様方のひとかたならぬご協力により　DIYにまつわる既存の価値観をデザインという切り口を通し
新しいトレンドを発信できるまでに成長を遂げ　世界初のDIYメーカーになりうる可能性を見いだしました

従来のパッケージ化された製品ではなしえない　お客様自身が育てる家具のあり方
工房の製品から広がるものづくりの発想　ひいては厳しい状況下におけるサバイバルのヒントなどを織りまぜた
これまでになかったライフスタイルの提案を発信していく所存です

法人化に伴い　企業としてのさらなる社会的責任が伴うことになりますが
今後も広く皆様のご支援とご鞭撻を賜り
工房が向かう先の未来を見守っていただければ幸いに存じます
